Varieties

Of the 8000 grape varieties worldwide, there are more than 40 varieties grown in Australia for fresh consumption. The four most popular are Thompson Seedless, Menindee Seedless, Crimson Seedless and Red Globe. While these public varieties are still very popular in domestic and export markets, there is a growing number of innovative and unique PBR protected varieties developed by commercial breeders.

The ATGA has partnered with Grapa, International Fruit Genetics, Sheehan Genetics and Sun World to showcase almost all of the table grape varieties grown in Australia.
