Effective spray application remains critical in a successful vineyard to ensure pests and disease are managed.
The ATGA will partner with DPIRD to host New Zealand spray expert David Manktelow and ATGA’s Alison MacGregor as they explore how to optimise spray application in table grapes.
David and Alison will focus on tailoring equipment to target specific pests (in particular, mealybug and mites) and allowing for different growth stages.
They will consider how to manipulate droplets and air to improve and maximise deposits.
A vineyard session will follow with field assessments, where they will set up and assess different equipment and approaches.
The session will also explore innovations in spray technology.
